CoMotion offers Day Passes for those looking for the ultimate flexibility of dropping in and coworking on specific days of the month. Day passes are $15/day+HST, have limited availability and require pre-approval. Days are pre-booked ahead of time based on available day slots. How does a membership work?
Our membership-based model provides you with a lot more flexibility than signing a long-term lease, and getting started is quick and easy. Your membership provides you access to the workspace you selected, our amenities, and our range of awesome CoMotion Perks. As a member, you also get access to book meeting rooms and attend exclusive member-only events.
How can you offer such low prices?
CoMotion provides the level of infrastructure found in a typical big office environment, but we share amenities amongst our member businesses including reception, board rooms, kitchen, and lounge areas so you are able to use them on-demand as you need them. This allows us to bring the cost down to a fraction of typical office spaces.
What is the sign up process?
Once you’ve come in for a tour and selected the type of workspace that fits your business best, you simply apply to be a member of our space. If approved, we’ll have you sign a Membership Agreement which explains our rules, terms, and payment information, and complete payment for the Membership Fees. Once payment is complete, your membership is activated and you’re officially a CoMotion member!
What fees are required upon sign up?
If you’re joining as a Commons Member, you just pay the membership fee for the month (pro-rated depending on when you join) and you can immediately start using our spaces as a member. If you’re joining as a Dedicated Desk or Office member, you’ll provide payment for your first month (pro-rated), a security deposit equal to one month membership, any optional add-ons you select (such as printing service), and a $25 key fee for your key fob and mailbox key.
Do I have to sign a lease?
No. We don’t lock you into a long-term multi-year lease. We have flexible monthly and 12-month options.
What are my payment options?
We accept post-dated cheques or pre-authorized debit which is free to members and allows you to pay easily online through your bank with scheduled payments so you can set it up once and not have to worry about remembering to pay each month.
Is my membership rate guaranteed?
Members who sign up for a 12-month term are guaranteed not to see an increase in their monthly rate during that time. Members are provided at least 30 days’ notice of any rate increases.
Do you offer discounts if I sign a longer term agreement?
Absolutely! We offer discounted membership rates if you commit to us for 12 months.
Do you let anyone join?
We’ve built an incredible community of members at CoMotion, and want to make sure that you’re a good fit for our community before joining. Those interested in becoming a member must first come on a tour of one of our spaces so that we can get to know you better, introduce you to some of the members, and learn more about your business. We then curate new member applications to make sure our culture and community are a good fit.
Can I invite guests into the space?
Yes. Members can bring clients into the space for meetings (that’s one of the perks of coworking!). We just ask that you sign in your guests at reception, and that your guests respect our policies and other members within the space. All members are responsible for their guests.
How do I secure my belongings?
Private offices all have lockable doors. Dedicated desk members are given a dedicated, lockable filing cabinet that they may use at any time to store valuables or important documents. As a precaution, please make sure to lock up all items that may be considered valuable.
What can I bring to my workspace?
Dedicated Desk members may bring in items or equipment to place on top of their workspace such as monitors, stands, plants, or a photo of that special someone you care about. We want your workspace to feel like home and let you be as productive as possible. Office members may bring additional furniture and decorate their space within CoMotion guidelines.
What are your networking events?
CoMotion has a calendar of great events each month, hosted by our Community Managers as well as fellow members. We have also partnered with various meetup and social groups in the city that support entrepreneurship such as Ladies Learning Code, Hamilton HIVE, Generation-Z, and WordPress Meetup, just to name a few.
How do I access the facility and what are the hours?
Desk and office members can use their CoMotion key fob to access the facility 24/7 outside of standard business hours. Members using the facility after hours are required to follow our lock-up procedures when leaving the space. Our standard business hours where a Community Manager is on-site at CoMotion On King are 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday, excluding holidays.
Do you offer custom spaces for larger teams?
Yes, we will work with you to the best of our ability to put together a custom solution that fits your business needs. If our current membership plans or availabilities do not fit your current needs, please contact us to inquire about custom options.
